Whether you’ve forgotten your MPIN or simply want to change it, this guide will walk you through the new, straightforward process for updating your MPIN in eSewa. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth and secure transaction experience.
Step-by-Step Process to Change MPIN in eSewa
Step 1: Open the eSewa App
Start by opening the eSewa app on your mobile device and navigate to the Login Page.
Step 2: Click on “Forgot MPIN?”
Once you are on the Login Page, click on the “Forgot MPIN?” option.
Step 3: Enter Your eSewa ID
You will be prompted to enter your eSewa ID, which is the mobile number associated with your eSewa account. After entering the number, click on “Proceed”.
Step 4: Verify Your Mobile Number
You will need to verify that the mobile number you entered is yours. If you no longer have access to this number, you can contact eSewa’s customer service at their toll-free number: 1660-01-02121.
Step 5: Send a Verification SMS
To verify your number, you’ll need to send a pre-typed SMS. Click on “Proceed to send SMS”, and your phone’s message box will open automatically with the pre-typed message. Do not edit this message.
- If you have another SIM card in your phone, ensure you send the message from the mobile number registered with eSewa.
- The system may prompt you to send the SMS to 32121. Click on ‘Remember my choice’, and then click on the ‘Send’ button.
Please note that standard SMS charges may apply. If you encounter any issues sending the SMS or do not receive the OTP, contact eSewa’s customer service at the NTC toll-free number: 1660-01-02121.
Step 6: Enter the OTP
Once you receive the OTP (One-Time Password) via SMS, enter it in the eSewa app and click on “Verify & Proceed”.
Step 7: Choose a New MPIN
You will now be prompted to select a new 4-digit MPIN. When choosing your MPIN, keep these guidelines in mind:
- Avoid continuous sequences like 1234 or 6789.
- Do not use the same digit repeated four times, such as 1111 or 2222.
- Do not use the first 4 digits or the last 4 digits of your mobile number.
These precautions help to ensure that your MPIN is secure and not easily guessable.
Step 8: Confirm Your New MPIN
Re-enter the new 4-digit MPIN in the confirmation box to complete the process.
Congratulations!
Your MPIN has been successfully changed. You can now transact easily on eSewa.
Important Security Reminder
eSewa will never call or text you asking for your MPIN or password under any pretense of offers or inducements. To keep your eSewa account safe, never share your MPIN, password, or OTP with anyone.
By following these steps, you can efficiently and securely update your MPIN, ensuring that your eSewa transactions remain smooth and protected.
